Lukas

We had a very "chill" senior session with Lukas!  Set up partly in the local ice arena and also outdoors in the snow, we were definitely braving the cold!  However, being Minnesotans, it was nothing we couldn't handle.  We got some neat shots with his hockey gear in the arena, and there was a beautiful frost on the trees for some great winter backgrounds!  Here are some of my picks!

Danielle

I had a fun senior session with Danielle... even her two pet dogs and a bird joined in some of the shots!  She had a very colorful room that also made for a great backdrop.  We also braved the chilly weather and did some outdoor shots with a neat old pickup and Danielle ended the session by making snow angels in the front yard!

Brianna

I can't believe I was still able to do a senior session OUTSIDE!  It keeps getting colder and colder around here, and every once in  awhile, it snows--but the day of Brianna's session it couldn't have been nicer for a November afternoon!  The sun was out and there was hardly any wind so we ventured outdoors, using everything from the backyard to a random lot with grain bins, and of course a little downtown for some great backgrounds.  Brianna was a lot of fun and I loved her beautiful curls.  We even got a few shots with her siblings and a couple of the family pets.  Check 'em out!

Brad's Senior Session

I met Brad for his senior pictures at the park, and after awhile we headed downtown for some more 'urban' shots.  He even got his car and his little brother in with him for a few poses--so fun!

Here are my picks...

Lindsay's Senior Session

We had a beautiful fall afternoon for Lindsay's senior session at the park and downtown.  It was so much fun, and definitely a girl's day, as Lindsay's mom and sister Leanna came with to help pick outfits and make her smile!  (However, when I tried to have her do a 'serious' pose, she had a hard time not laughing!)  And special thanks to Leanna's fiancĂ© Cal for letting us use his spare room as a makeshift studio for a couple quick formal shots... I think they turned out great!

Here are some shots that caught my eye--isn't she gorgeous?!

Samantha

I had a great time downtown with Samantha, her mom, and her best friend.  The weather was just (barely) warm enough for a summer dress, and I know those days are definitely numbered!  Samantha was one of those girls who just knows how to pose, and I loved her serious looks just as much as her smiles!  And isn't her red hair just gorgeous?!

We even got to venture inside of her high school for a few cool locker shots!  Here are some of my absolute favorites...

Whitney's Senior Session

There's certain spots in small, rural towns that I always drive by and think, "that would make a great place for a picture!"  The particular town where Whitney is from is one of them.  Well, my ideas finally came to fruition on the evening of her senior session, and we had SO much fun because I kept finding more and more great spots hidden in the alleys and along the streets that were the perfect accent to her clothes, style, and personality!

Towards the end of the session we also did a few formal shots with the help of her mother's livingroom wall--I think they turned out pretty good!  We also did a quick session over at the school gym for some sports shots.  Here are a few of Whitney's awesome senior pictures!

Angie's Senior Session

Angie loves saxophones, the ROTC, and her little brother... so of course we included all these favorites in her senior session!  She even did an awesome shot with her combat boots--and a prom dress!   We had a great time exploring downtown, but this time we also shot a few pictures at Angie's house using my professional light that I usually use at weddings--and it worked great!  So now I am going to be offering a small number of formal poses in addition to my natural light senior sessions for any parents who still want the "traditional" shot for the living room wall or above the mantle.  Keep checking back for a few more examples!

But first, here's Angie's session!

Brittany's Senior Session

Another great "urban" session in the wonderful town of Grand Forks... I keep finding more and more little nooks and crannies to shoot downtown, and Brittany, her mom, and I were definitely on the lookout.  We had a wonderful time and as you can tell Brittany is a pure natural when it comes to posing!  I barely had to direct her at all, although her mother says she has been practicing since she was a little girl!

Here are some of my favorite shots, including an old chair we found by a dumpster, wild flowers growing in between buildings, and that fabulous blue brick building I used in Brittany's big sister, Ashley's engagement photos!  And, who can deny another  great pair of shoes getting their own closeup!?

Molly and Mauri's Double Senior Session

Senior pictures, times two!  Molly and Mauri are best friends, and since they lived out of town we decided to do their senior pictures at the same time.  It worked out great, and each girl had unique and fun ideas.  The best part was when I asked if there were any old buildings on Molly's parent's farm, she replied, "Well, there's an old town back in the woods we could use--all that's left is the bank!"  Turns out that old bank was a photographer's dream, with amazing brick, weathered wood, a nearby wheat field, and plenty of tall grasses to provide the perfect backdrop for senior pictures!

Oh, and I just had to post this first picture--you all know how much I love "jumping" shots and it really shows how much fun these two are!  Note the "old bank" in the background.
