New baby sister Vayle, just seven days old, was such a great subject to photograph--she was sleepy, easy to pose, and hardly fussed at all! Big brother Hogan and big sister Ava were definitely proud of her and I got great shots of the three of them together, as well as the older two playing in their rooms and having fun! Here are some of my favorites... I can't wait to come back and take pictures of these kids again and see how much Vayle grows!
This first picture has a bit of a story with it... it's the place where Cal and Leanna first met! It was fun to go to the local college hangout as we made our way to the reception to recreate a unique moment--plus I love all the colors! Leanna also used to be my co-worker when I was at UND, and we have many fun memories together. They had a beautiful winter day with plenty of sunshine and their reception at the Alerus was beautiful. Here are some of my favorite shots!

Lacey and Adam get the award for Bravest Couple of the Year. They endured temperatures around 2 degrees and a foot of snow (Lacey wore heels, which I loved!) and were STILL so happy and full of life, making the perfect subjects for photographs. We explored a park and downtown, and even visited the spot where their wedding reception will take place in June, sans snow. I, of course, had way too many favorites to count! Here are just a few...
I was lucky enough to be able to witness the Lunar Eclipse last night, and even more lucky that I finally figured out how to properly photograph it! I had to do a few experiments and tried out a couple different lenses, but once I had my setting I was ready to shoot! My husband and I drove out to an open field to watch it and it was truly amazing.
Here is the full moon, about an hour before the eclipse began.
We didn't get out there right away when it began, but enough so it had started to really show the shadowing.

This one was hard to see...there was almost no light left!
I don't know much about the scientific facts, but I guess the next thing that happens is the moon turns reddish/yellow. I had to have a longer exposure to capture the colors in this but it turned out awesome!

Can you believe this happy, busy boy once was so tiny he fit inside a bowl? Now he's standing up in his crib, but I still remember when we had to prop him up with stuffed animals so he wouldn't fall over! There are even a few peeks from last time of how the family's puppy, Jack, has grown up this past year. It's truly amazing, and I enjoy this part of photography so much. Getting to know the families I work with and being able to come back again and again is a wonderful perk!
Check out Hunter's latest shots... we even got him "eating" his birthday cake! It made such a mess that Mom had to wash him off in the sink, which he didn't like very much, but it sure made for a cute picture!
I love my niece and nephew! They are so much fun to photograph. You may remember seeing Quin's newborn pictures a few months ago and of course my usual posts about Kajsa, who has been my baby model since day one. I can't believe she's already three! Kajsa loves dresses and My Little Ponies and of course, dinosaurs! Quin is growing fast, too, and at just over three months, he was very curious about my camera. Here are some of my favorite pictures from their session... as usual I had way too many to choose from!
These two brothers were certainly busy, but we managed to get their attention with some fun ring tones off Mom and Dad's phone! Lucas loved "C is for Cookie" and we played it over and over to get him to giggle. Eventually, he had to have the phone, and as he posed on the John Deere toy tractor, it reminded me of a typical farmer with auto steer--talking on his cell phone! Big brother Nathan had more fun outside in the snow, even though it was freezing out! Here are my picks!
McKinley just turned the big ONE so I came over to take some pictures of her along with her big brother and sister. We had so much fun as they showed me around the house and in their rooms. We even went outside to play in the snow, since it ended up being such a nice day. All three kids were so photogenic and there were so many great places in the house to shoot, with amazing wood floors and plenty of natural light coming in! We ended the session with McKinley eating her first birthday cake... except she decided she would rather have blueberries! Here are my favorites--there were way too many to choose from!
It's hard to believe this little guy is already nine months old! I last saw him at six months, also three months, and even when he was just a tiny newborn. He's still as smiley and full of personality as ever, sporting two adorable bottom teeth and a fast crawl. We ventured outside for about 40 seconds for a couple shots, but it was too cold, so we decided to stay indoors and have fun reading a few books and trying on John Deere stuff. Mom already had a large collection of books for when Jack is finally old enough to read... even though he looks like he's starting already!
