I'm headed out of the country (south of the border to be exact--to sunny Mexico!) so I won't be posting updates to the blog this week! I will also have limited access to voice mail and e-mail, and will not be working on projects until I return on Monday, December 3. However, I promise I'll have lots to share and update as soon as I get back, so keep checking! Thank you for your patience!
It was definitely a girl bonding day, as sisters Jennifer, Heather (daughter Kenady) and Bree (daughter Brooklynn) met up for some shots all together. As soon as I arrived at the farm I knew it would be a great spot... cool old barns, antique cars, and wagon wheels! I was definitely a dream for taking pictures. Even the temperature was nice, so we were able to do the whole session outdoors. That's pretty crazy for November around here, as there had been a high wind advisory out for this day. Luckily it started after I left. Perfect timing! Here are my favorite shots.
Little Izzy is all ready for Christmas! Even Mom and Dad's dining room walls were the perfect holiday color for a backdrop! It was fun to do a few "winter" shots inside, and then go outside where the weather is still very much fall-like! The wind was blowing though, so we saved our outdoor adventure for last. Izzy didn't seem to care where we were--she was very content and the perfect subject!
Big brother Alex was definitely ready for his closeup, and even curious little James was checking out my camera as we hung out in his nifty bedroom, complete with a giant painted tree and a hiding puppy! (Can you spot him?) We then ventured out to the backyard where it was a perfect fall evening for cozy sweaters, swing sets, and close hugs! Here are some of my picks!
This little guy is very special to me...he's my nephew! His sister is the lovely Kajsa, who has been my inspiration for all things baby (well, now she's definitely past baby --she'll be three in December!) but here is another brand new one to watch grow. I was so glad to be able to capture him at such a special time and so very young. They are only this little for the first few days!
You may recall a running photo session I've been having with a certain family with a LOT of kids. Grandma had me do special sessions with the kids separately, around their birthdays, and it sure has been fun going out to the farm over the past several months! You may remember earlier this summer when I did the boys, and then this fall when I did big sister Payton.
This time it was sisters Christa and Christal's turn... even though the others "jumped" in for a few shots! Here are some of my favorites!
I can't believe I was still able to do a senior session OUTSIDE! It keeps getting colder and colder around here, and every once in awhile, it snows--but the day of Brianna's session it couldn't have been nicer for a November afternoon! The sun was out and there was hardly any wind so we ventured outdoors, using everything from the backyard to a random lot with grain bins, and of course a little downtown for some great backgrounds. Brianna was a lot of fun and I loved her beautiful curls. We even got a few shots with her siblings and a couple of the family pets. Check 'em out!
I went to visit Bennett and Bryce again, after seeing them earlier this spring. It was pretty cold outside this time, but we managed to get a few shots in before we were all freezing with runny noses! I think the boys had much more fun inside--they got to put on their Halloween costumes again and they LOVED it! Here are Batman and Robin's favorite shots... they even took their masks off for a few!
Gus is one! It's been such an amazing first year, and I was so honored to be there to capture him on so many special milestones. He is actually my first baby to go through the "every three months" schedule, and it's all right here! Check out Gus and how much growing he's done, starting with when he was just a newborn, then again at three months, six months, and nine months! And now, see how this once tiny newborn has grown into a big one-year-old boy!
