Oh, how I love fall weddings! The colors are always so incredible, and the weather is (usually) divine. Nicole and Derrik had one of those days. The sun was shining and it was the perfect temperature for a September afternoon. It was also a hometown wedding, and I love those the best!
Here are some of my many, many favorites!
We had a beautiful fall afternoon for Lindsay's senior session at the park and downtown. It was so much fun, and definitely a girl's day, as Lindsay's mom and sister Leanna came with to help pick outfits and make her smile! (However, when I tried to have her do a 'serious' pose, she had a hard time not laughing!) And special thanks to Leanna's fiancé Cal for letting us use his spare room as a makeshift studio for a couple quick formal shots... I think they turned out great!
Here are some shots that caught my eye--isn't she gorgeous?!
What a fun family! I loved their red hair and the wonderful meadow beside their house with that fabulous tall, wispy, autumn grass--a photographer's dream. Plus, they had a trampoline! (You know how much I love jumping shots!) Little Isaak just celebrated his first birthday, so the session was extra special for him. We even got a hilarious series of shots of him enjoying his bumble bee birthday cake... he destroyed it within seconds! Yum!

Has it really been almost a whole year since I last saw Grace and Markson? I had a lot of fun with these two last September, and I was glad to be back! Both kids were a lot taller, a lot more talkative, and a LOT faster. Markson is practically driving a car! (haha!) I definitely had to do some running around the yard to keep up with these two.
Here are my favorites--there were too many to choose from!
I always enjoy when I get to explore new locations for photo sessions. We headed on over to the Pioneer Village in Warren for Bryn's pictures and it was so much fun! From turn-of-the-century log cabins to the boardwalk along the old train station, there were plenty of neat spots to shoot. (Bryn's cousin, Maylie, also had some fun locations at her shoot last May.) We even got to bring with an antique toy horse from Grandma's house that really matched the surroundings well!
Before we left, though, Bryn insisted on watering Grandma's flowers. What a good little helper!
Here's a quick post before I head off for more sessions today --cutie sisters Isabella and Olivia! Mom and dad joined in on the fun, too, so we got lots of great family shots at the park. Luckily it was a beautiful day, not too cold, not too warm. Just perfect!
And of course after the main shots, we took the girls over to the playground where the real fun began--slides and swings are way more interesting than trying to make a two-year-old stand still in a flower bed! Here are my picks...
I had an unforgettable session with Blake, Whitney and their mom and dad, and not just because I remember all my clients no matter what, but... we got locked out of the house! Good thing it wasn't too cold out (even though after waiting about an hour for the locksmith to show up it started getting a bit chilly for the kids!) We spent the hour, of course, taking pictures, so it went by quickly and we had tons of fun in the front yard!
Both kids are just so adorable and the entire family was a lot of fun to work with... here are my favorites!
I ventured out to Payton's farm for a fun photo shoot with horses, dogs, cats, and more! You may remember when I went out to the same farm a couple months ago to take pictures of her brothers. Last time it was dirt bikes and chickens, this time it was barrel racing and pink cowboy hats!

Ryder was a great little guy, who smiled and giggled almost the whole time. Again, it was nice enough to do part of the shoot inside and the other part outside. We still had to fight with the wind, which certainly did some interesting things to Ryder's adorable blonde hair! Of course, when you're one, it's just all the more cute! I think the best part for Ryder was when we let him sit right down in a puddle and play with sticks. And then, when we got back inside it was straight to the bath, but not before a quick spin around the house in his birthday suit!
Those eyes! Those pigtails! And, that look! Little Kayla sure made my job easy, she was such a darling. We started off at her house, where she showed me her pretty blue room that matched her pretty blue dress. Then, mom and dad brought up her playhouse where she put on a puppet show! Next, we headed out to the farm. The only problem was the crazy wind and bright sun! We had to leave before we got blown away, but still managed to get some good snaps while we were there.
